Setting the stage
Set aside 60-minutes of uninterrupted time to take the assessment. Any time that you are away from the assessment will reduce the time you have to answer the questions. Set your phone on do not disturb or forward it to voice mail.
Have a calculator and scratch paper ready to answer some of the questions in the assessment. Once you have started the assessment, you will not be able to access other programs on your computer.

Answering questions
To answer a multiple choice or true-false question, select the button next to the answer you think is correct. To answer a fill-in-the-blank question, just type in your answer. Use numerals; do not spell out numbers. Also, do not enter commas or dollar or percentage signs as the KAC program will not recognize them.
After you have answered a question, click on Next, and the next question will be displayed. Next is one of the navigation keys displayed below each question, along with Back, Mark for Review, View All Questions and Turn in Assessment.
Next will move you to the next question. You may also skip a question by selecting this key.
Back allows you to review the previous question.
Your assessment score is based on the questions you answer correctly. If a question stumps you, click on Mark for Review and then Next to go to the next question. Then if you have time, you will be able to return to any question marked for review. Note that if you do not Mark for Review but skip a question by clicking Next and not answering it, the View All Questions page will show that question as unanswered but not as marked for review.
If you finish the assessment with time remaining, you may review questions until your 60-minutes expires. View All Questions displays all the questions on the assessment in graphic form. Questions marked for review will be displayed with a flag. If you have not answered a question, it will be marked with a hollow circle. If you have answered a question, it will be marked with a checked circle. To return to any question, you may click on the number, flag, hollow circle, or checked circle.
Because you may be returning to a marked or unanswered question, you have the option at the bottom of any question to Turn in Assessment; you do not have to work your way to the end of the assessment to signal you are finished. However, be careful not to click Turn in Assessment until youve reviewed all the marked questions and completed all the answers. If your 60-minutes are up, the KAC automatically turns in your assessment. Turn in Assessment begins the process of scoring your assessment and providing you with recommendations to improve your knowledge and skills and further your training.

Keeping track of time
A Timer will be displayed in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. You will have one-hour to complete the assessment. If you find the Timer distracting, you may close it by clicking on Hide. After closing the timer, you may reopen it at any time by clicking on Show.
Whether or not your timer is closed, the assessment will remind you when you have approximately 15 minutes remaining. If you have not finished the assessment after 60-minutes, the assessment will be closed and scored.
